About the Role:
Opportunity for an experienced Construction Modeller/Detail to step into a Team Lead role based at the Sunshine Coast head office. This position has become available due to organisational growth and the need for experienced leadership to oversee a team of construction modellers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing up to five team members, ensuring project delivery aligns with client expectations, budgets, and timelines, while maintaining the organisation’s high quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to lead, mentor, and develop a talented team within an innovative environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise up to 5 construction modellers, providing guidance, training, and support
  • Develop and manage project schedules to meet deadlines and budget requirements
  • Create and review 3D building construction models, including issuing IFA models and drawings
  • Maintain quality assurance, ensuring all work complies with company standards and Australian Building Codes
  • Collaborate proactively with clients, engineers, architects, and tradespeople to facilitate smooth project execution
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines, providing regular updates to senior management
  • Manage team workload, troubleshoot issues, and encourage a positive team environment
  • Interpret laser scan and point cloud data to support project development
  • Contribute to business development initiatives to support future growth


About You:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in construction modelling and leadership, with the following qualities and experience:

  • Proficiency in 3D modelling software such as Tekla, StruCAD, or Advanced Steel
  • Experience managing and mentoring construction modelling teams
  • Solid understanding of Australian Standards and Building Codes relevant to steel, concrete, and timber detailing
  • Demonstrable experience working within the Australian construction or detailing industry, with familiarity of local standards and processes
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with clients and project teams
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, troubleshoot under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Experience reading 3D laser scan and point cloud data (preferred but not essential)
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a passion for mentoring staff
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous professional development
