About the Role
A Design Manager is sought to support the ongoing delivery of key infrastructure projects within this government department’s engineering team on a six-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead multi-disciplinary teams, utilise your technical expertise, and make a meaningful impact on vital public infrastructure. The role is based in Adelaide, with flexible working options available.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams to produce accurate, timely, and cost-effective design outputs that meet departmental standards.
- Prioritise health, safety, and wellbeing by following Safety in Design processes and modelling safe behaviours.
- Communicate clearly about project risks, progress, and costs with stakeholders and team members.
- Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Support team development, encourage collaboration, and promote a positive, knowledge-sharing work environment.
- Ensure all designs meet compliance standards and incorporate emerging technologies for continuous improvement.
- Drive ongoing enhancements in design processes and safety practices.
- A recognised engineering qualification (e.g., B.Eng) in a relevant discipline.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar design management or engineering role.
- Excellent communication skills with a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of safety standards and compliance within infrastructure projects.
- Resilient, proactive, and eager to support team growth and innovation.
