Design Draftsperson

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Design Draftsperson to join a dynamic engineering team. This role involves preparing designs, specifications, and drawing packages for fixed and mobile plant, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The role also includes supporting drafting workflow management and reviewing the work of other draftspersons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Develop concept layouts and designs for approval.
• Ensure all drafting adheres to the Design Quality Plan (DQP) within the drawing management system.
• Review and check drafting work completed by other draftspersons.
• Assist with managing drafting workflow, prioritisation, and allocation of tasks among internal and external drafting teams.
• Ensure all designs comply with safety requirements and functional specifications.
• Apply and maintain expert knowledge of relevant company and Australian Standards.
• Utilise CAD software efficiently and maintain expert-level drafting skills.
• Reuse and adapt existing designs to maximise efficiency while maintaining quality.
• Build maintainability and practicality into all designs.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Design Draftsperson in a technical engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of CAD software and drafting procedures.
• Understanding of fixed and mobile plant design, functionality, and safety requirements.
• Familiarity with Australian Standards relevant to engineering design.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and support workflow across teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outputs.

This role is full-time, 12 month contract
