About the Client:

Government agency tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking a Data and Reporting Officer to join their busy team for a casual 12-months temporary assignment.


About the Role
In this role you will be part of a small team delivering analytical work including data advisory, data analysis, data management and reporting in support of complex economic and pricing policy and market monitoring.

  • Identifying, designing, building and deploying scalable data, statistical and mathematical models
  • Developing and executing data collection and presentation strategies
  • Designing and delivery of regular and adhoc reports and insights to inform decision making and policy development, including data scope, analysis, quality assurance and visualisation for pricing policy reports
  • Develop and maintain pricing and market performance dashboards
  • Identification, exploration and formalisation of data insights including the engagement and procurement of third-party data sources for integration into data models and reports
  • Identification and engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of work priorities and projects
  • Participation in data forums and supporting ongoing data transformation process.




 
About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • Quantitative mindset with technical and analytical ability to handle and analyse data
  • Ability to work with large data including manipulating and extracting data from data warehouses
  • Ability to synthesise and coordinate complex information
  • Proficiency with major statistical software packages such as R and Python, EXCEL, SAS/SQL
  • Emerging communication skills that enable complex data and insights to be conveyed to non-technical audiences and within business contexts.
 
Desirable skills to have for the role/s:
  • Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative field
Experience working in mathematical and statistical modelling and forecasting
