About the Client:
Government agency tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Our client is seeking Data and Reporting Officers to join their Data Reporting team on a casual 12-months temporary assignment.
About the Role:
In this role you will be part of a small team delivering analytical work including data advisory, data analysis, data management and reporting in support of complex economic and pricing policy and market monitoring.
- Identifying, designing, building and deploying scalable data, statistical and mathematical models
- Developing and executing data collection and presentation strategies
- Designing and delivery of regular and adhoc reports and insights to inform decision making and policy development, including data scope, analysis, quality assurance and visualisation for pricing policy reports
- Develop and maintain pricing and market performance dashboards
- Identification, exploration and formalisation of data insights including the engagement and procurement of third-party data sources for integration into data models and reports
- Identification and engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of work priorities and projects
- Participation in data forums and supporting ongoing data transformation process.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Quantitative mindset with technical and analytical ability to handle and analyse data
- Ability to work with large data including manipulating and extracting data from data warehouses
- Ability to synthesise and coordinate complex information
- Proficiency with statistical software packages such as R and Python, EXCEL, SAS/SQL
- Strong communication skills that enable complex data and insights to be conveyed to non-technical audiences and within business contexts.
- Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative field
- Experience working in mathematical and statistical modelling and forecasting
