Customer Service Officer

Join our client within the local government. This flexible, part-time role offers approximately 5 hours per day, up to 5 days a week, across sites including Broadmeadows, Craigieburn, Mickleham North, and Sunbury. Be the friendly face and voice of the Council, providing support via phone, email, and face-to-face contacts to a diverse community.

Contract Length: ASAP to May 2026
Hourly rate - $37.35

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven high-level customer service experience in multi-channel environments such as contact centers or retail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse community members
  • Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and with good judgment
  • Use of Microsoft Office, customer management, and request tracking systems
  • Flexibility to work shifts starting between 9-11 AM and travel between sites
Nice to Have:
  • Multilingual skills in languages spoken within area(e.g., Arabic, Assyrian, Farsi, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Mandarin, Nepali, Punjabi, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese)
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Administrative or cashiering background
Qualifications:
  • Experience in customer service, call centers, or administrative roles
  • A Certificate in Customer Service or a related field (preferred but optional)
Additional Requirements:
  • Travel across various sites for coverage (must have own car and license)
  • Start shifts flexibly within required hours
  • Commitment to respectful and inclusive service
  • Adherence to Workplace Health and Safety policies
