- Ensure frontline, operational and engineering employees feel informed, valued and connected to the organisation
- Lead the development and delivery of targeted internal and external communications
- Bring the Employee Value Proposition to life for field-based and technical teams
- Strengthen the organisation’s positioning as an employer of choice
Key Responsibilities
Strengthen Engagement and Culture
- Design and deliver communication strategies that strengthen engagement, connection and organisational alignment
- Translate complex business priorities, safety requirements, technical updates and cultural initiatives into clear, practical messaging
- Develop communications that resonate with operational and engineering audiences, ensuring relevance and credibility
- Bring the Employee Value Proposition to life through authentic employee stories and real operational experiences
Deliver Practical, Fit-for-Purpose Communications
- Develop and lead content creation across multiple channels, including:
- Written articles and updates
- Campaign materials and posters
- Video and photography
- Oversee creative development, production and delivery to ensure communications are timely, accurate and engaging
- Brief and manage external creative partners where required
- Ensure communications support operational priorities and align with broader business strategy
Internal Channel Management
- Plan and coordinate content across internal platforms, including:
- The Wire
- iTV
- Field Central
- Digital screens
- Work Group Meeting materials
- Drive consistency of messaging across channels
- Contribute to the content committee to support a coordinated, enterprise-wide communications approach
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with operational leaders, engineers and internal business partners
- Provide strategic communication advice to support planning, change initiatives and operational delivery
- Support leaders in communicating clearly and confidently with their teams
- Adapt communication style to suit diverse working environments, including:
- Direct, data-driven and technically focused audiences
- Practical, task-oriented field teams
- Relationship-driven and collaborative stakeholders
- Operate effectively in high-pressure environments requiring responsiveness and sound judgement
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Education / Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Journalism, Communication or Public Relations
Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- Experience in corporate communications, corporate affairs or consultancy roles
- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and deliver integrated communication strategies and campaigns
- Experience partnering with operational or technical stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to build credibility across varied workforce groups
- Advanced content development capability, including writing and editing across multiple channels
- Ability to interpret and simplify complex or technical information into clear, engaging messaging
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced, high performing team environment
- Working knowledge of:
- SharePoint
- Office 365
- Digital communication tools
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign and Photoshop)
Desirable:
- Experience delivering communications in a large, complex or infrastructure-focused organisation
- Experience supporting field-based, operational or engineering workforces
- Experience working across geographically dispersed teams
