Work Arrangement:
Hybrid
- Anchor days in office: Tuesday and Thursday
- One additional day in office (employee choice)
- Two days working from home
Purpose of the Position:
- Support the delivery of internal and external communications that keep employees informed, connected and engaged
- Assist in developing content, coordinating communication activities and maintaining internal communication channels
- Contribute to bringing the Employee Value Proposition to life through practical, engaging communications
- Support both field-based and office-based employees across the organisation
Key Responsibilities Engagement and Culture
- Assist in delivering communications that strengthen employee engagement, connection and understanding
- Support the translation of business priorities, safety messages and cultural initiatives into clear, practical communications
- Help bring the Employee Value Proposition to life through authentic employee stories and experiences
Content Development
- Draft and edit communications across a range of formats, including:
- Articles
- Posters
- Digital screens
- Presentations
- Video and photography
- Ensure content is clear, engaging and fit-for-purpose for diverse audiences
Internal Channel Management
- Support publishing across internal platforms, including:
- The Wire
- iTV
- Field Central
- Digital screens
- Work Group Meeting materials
- Maintain and update the communications content calendar
- Participate in the content committee to support a coordinated and consistent communications approach
Stakeholder Support
- Support the Corporate Communications team in delivering communication activities and initiatives
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to meet communication needs across the organisation
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Education / Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Journalism, Communication or Public Relations
Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar corporate communications, corporate affairs or consultancy role
- Demonstrated experience developing, managing and delivering integrated communication campaigns
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders
- Proven experience creating content across multiple channels, including writing, editing and copywriting
- Ability to simplify complex information into clear, engaging and accessible language
- Working knowledge of:
- SharePoint
- Office 365
- Digital communication tools
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign and Photoshop)
Desirable:
- Experience supporting communications in a large, complex or technically focused organisation
- Experience communicating with field-based or operational teams, particularly in utilities or infrastructure environments
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, from direct and task-focused through to more conversational and relationship-based approaches
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performing team environment
