About the company:
Our client is a large federal government agency focused on providing high quality mental health assessment and clinical counselling services. They take pride on meeting client needs through a combination of proven clinical practices and new and emerging evidence-based approaches. Our client is looking for an experienced mental health clinician, with strong administration, coordination and time management skills to join a busy intake team, dealing with allocations of workflow and coordination of appointments and mental health care.
About the role:
- Collaboratively manage, and have daily oversight of the regional allocations queue
- Review of intake assessments.
- Matching clients to appropriate clinicians
- Escalating and prioritising clients as required
- Contacting clients on the waiting list when required.
- Conduct intake assessments to inform suitability for various forms of counselling, and therapy
- Conduct counselling intake assessment for internal referrals as required
- Maintain a small clinical workload of clients as required
- Participate in community development and service promotion activities, as required.
- Participate in program evaluation, research activities, and project management as required
About you:
- You will have previous experience working in a mental health or counselling environment, and have had exposure to trauma informed and client centred intake and assessment
- You will have ability to complete clinically appropriate intake assessment, document and escalate according to risk.
- You will have high level of written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to communicate at all levels
- You will have excellent time management and coordination skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where needs and requirements can change very quickly.
- You will have strong administration, coordination and IT skills, and the ability to document and record accordingly.
- You will have a passion for clinical psychology and social work to support mental health initiatives.
Mandatory Education Requirements for the role:
- EITHER Degree Qualified + Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA)
- OR Social Work Degree + Current membership with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- OR Masters Counselling Qualification + PACFA Registration as a Clinical Counsellor
- OR Masters Counselling Qualification + ACA at Level 3 or Level 4
- You will have Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance ideally, or have it granted before commencing the role.
Benefits:
- ASAP start pending Federal Police Check
- 12-month temporary casual assignment with potential extension
- Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, generally worked between the hours of 8am and 6pm
- Melbourne CBD location + hybrid working from home
- $65 per hour + super
