Pay Rate:
$77.21 per hour + super

Own delivery across a major capital works program

Step into a client‑side role managing medium‑value refurbishments, new‑builds and minor works end‑to‑end. Act as the owner’s representative - driving scope, time, cost and quality, navigating procurement and probity, and coordinating consultants and contractors to land tangible outcomes on campus.

Position Overview

You will run multiple projects through the full lifecycle - business case, design, approvals, procurement, delivery, commissioning, providing decisive contract administration (Principal’s Representative), stakeholder engagement with senior leaders, and clear reporting on scope/time/cost/cash‑flow. Opportunities include contributing to projects that reflect Indigenous Australian culture within the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct development and delivery of refurbishments/new builds using appropriate delivery methodologies.
  • Act as Principal’s Representative - administer contracts, manage variations/claims, and ensure compliance.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with executives, design consultants, contractors and government interfaces.
  • Maintain rigorous controls on program, budget, risk, and HSE, escalating early and resolving issues decisively.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in capital works processes and governance.

Essential Experience
  • Degree in a building industry discipline (or equivalent) and proven client‑side capital works delivery.
  • Track record meeting scope/time/cost targets on complex building projects.
  • Strong procurement knowledge and experience operating in a public institutional probity environment.
  • Skilled communicator and negotiator with senior stakeholders; able to lead multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated HSE leadership and experience delivering projects that respect and reflect Indigenous culture.

Contract Details
  • Initial term: 6 months (with potential extensions to support current and pending workload).
  • Based in Brisbane CBD; flexible work arrangements negotiable.

Application Process

To be considered, please include:
  • A concise project summary for two relevant capital works projects (values, delivery method, your role, outcomes).
  • A one‑page note on contract administration you have led (claims/variations, risk controls, stakeholder issues, lessons learned).
  • Your availability from 2nd February 2026 and desired extension parameters.

Applications close  5:00pm AEST, 28 January 2026.
