Our client AGL is seeking an experienced Change Manager to join a dynamic Technology function and play a pivotal role in enabling successful delivery of strategic initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence transformation across a complex portfolio and drive meaningful change in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is a six months contract role in a hybrid working environment based in Melbourne.
Key Purpose of the Role
The Change Manager will be instrumental in embedding effective change management strategies across the Technology portfolio. This role will partner with Technology Heads-Of and delivery teams to assess change impacts, develop engagement and readiness plans, and drive adoption of new systems, processes, and new ways of working (WoW).
In this context, WoW refers specifically to how technology and product management functions evolve their delivery practices—not just generic workplace change. The transformation spans multiple delivery methodologies, including Agile, Scaled Agile, and Waterfall, and is designed to support a flexible, fit-for-purpose approach to delivering projects and products.
Acting as a key liaison between project teams and business stakeholders, the Change Manager will ensure alignment, minimise disruption, and support the achievement of strategic outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement change strategies aligned with program objectives and business outcomes.
- Partner with Technology leaders and delivery teams to assess impacts, define mitigation strategies, and embed change practices.
- Provide strategic advice on best-practice change management approaches, ensuring consistency and alignment with enterprise frameworks.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, communications, training, business readiness, and change measurement activities.
- Contribute to business cases through impact assessments, adoption risk analysis, and readiness planning.
- Collaborate with Finance, Strategy & Business Management, and Business Operations to align change initiatives with broader frameworks.
- Guide and support change practitioners across the program and partner organisations.
- Promote a culture of change agility and continuous improvement across the Technology function.
- Leverage organisational knowledge to inform planning and design fit-for-purpose interventions.
- Support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, ensuring Technology-led change is effectively integrated and adopted.
- Proven experience in change management, communications, or transformation roles, especially within a Technology environment.
- Proven ability to develop and implement change strategies, including stakeholder engagement and business readiness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting messaging for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in impact assessments, mitigation planning, and adoption support.
- Proficiency in change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR).
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- A proactive, outcomes-focused mindset with a passion for driving clarity and alignment.
- Experience in energy, utilities, or regulated industries is advantageous.
