This role is a part time role, 3 days per week and offered on a 3 month contract.

About the Role

As a Category Management Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering specialist advice and services across high-value, complex, and strategic procurement categories. You’ll lead sourcing strategy development, market analysis, and supplier engagement activities that align with our corporate goals and optimise contract outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Contract Owners and key stakeholders to align procurement strategies with corporate objectives
  • Provide subject matter expertise in category management processes and coach team members as needed
  • Lead high-value commercial negotiations and liaise with Legal on contract terms and departures
  • Oversee post-award contract management, supplier performance, and formal communications to protect corporate interests
  • Prepare comprehensive procurement documentation including Sourcing Strategies, Recommendation for Award, and Board Papers
About You

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing and category management best practices
  • Substantial experience in complex sourcing, supplier negotiations, and post-award contract management
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing commercial strategies and managing supplier performance
  • Experience working in a large, multi-disciplinary or geographically dispersed organisation—ideally in engineering, mining, infrastructure, or utilities
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • Degree qualified in Commerce, Supply Chain, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • CIPS qualification (completed or in progress) is highly regarded
  • Familiarity with WA Public Sector Procurement is an advantage

Why Join Us?

This is your chance to be part of a high-performing team where your strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and collaborative approach will make a real difference. You'll enjoy working in a supportive environment with opportunities to influence and grow your expertise in complex procurement.
