Are you passionate about sustainable water management and urban planning? We are seeking an experienced Catchment Management Planner to join a dynamic team driving innovative solutions for stormwater, floodplain, and integrated water cycle management.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Develop and deliver key actions outlined in strategic catchment and waterways plans.
- Coordinate Floodplain Risk Management Studies and Plans.
- Lead the development of Stormwater, Waterways, and Coastal Management Programs.
- Provide strategic advice on planning instruments (DCPs, LEPs, policies) and development contributions.
- Manage projects, budgets, and external consultants.
- Collaborate with government agencies, catchment committees, and stakeholders to deliver projects at a regional scale.
- Undertake research and develop policies on floodplain, stormwater, and coastal management.
- Review and prioritise stormwater, flood, and waterways management works.
- Secure funding through grants and liaise with state and federal bodies.
- Promote Water Sensitive Urban Design principles in planning and capital works.
- Tertiary qualifications in civil/environmental engineering, natural resource management, environmental science, planning, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in floodplain management, planning, or environmental engineering.
- Strong knowledge of NSW Flood Risk Management Process and Water Sensitive Urban Design principles.
- Proven experience in project management, budgeting, and contract management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in local government.
- Understanding of Coastal Management Programs.
- C Class Driver’s Licence.
