Facility Maintenance Project Officer (Band 6)

Hours:
38 per week, Monday to Friday (8:30am–5:00pm)
Position Objective
- Manage and deliver minor capital works projects across Council’s built infrastructure
- Oversee building renewals, refurbishments, upgrades and cyclic maintenance programs
- Provide facility management expertise to support policy and procedure development and implementation
- Monitor project delivery, contractor performance and budget expenditure
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects in line with Council’s Project Management Framework
- Prepare scopes, specifications and contract documentation
- Procure and oversee trade and service contractors
- Supervise on-site works and ensure compliance with OHS and regulatory requirements
- Monitor budgets and report on progress against targets
- Contribute to the development and improvement of project systems, policies and procedures
- Engage with internal stakeholders to minimise disruption to operational facilities
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of building construction, maintenance and asset management principles
- Knowledge of Victorian Building Regulations, NCC and relevant standards
- Experience managing contractors and outsourced services
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and within a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Building Construction, Engineering or related field
or substantial relevant industry experience - Demonstrated experience delivering minor capital works and maintenance projects
- Experience in budget management and procurement
- Experience developing or implementing policy and procedures
- Current Victorian Driver Licence
