Administrator / Secretariat Support – Local Government
Location: Malvern | Rate:$45 per hour + Super | Contract:  Nov 2025 - Jan 2026

We’re seeking an experienced Administrator / Secretariat Support Officer to join a busy Local Government team based in Malvern. This role will provide high-level administrative support and assist with key data integrity tasks to ensure compliance and accuracy across the food, health registration, and debtor databases.

About the Role In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for providing general administrative and secretarial support to the team while ensuring all systems and records are maintained accurately and efficiently. A key focus will be data cleansing and cross-checking activities to support the accuracy of council’s registration and debtor information. You’ll also play an active part in improving operational processes by developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to internal teams.
  • Undertake data cleansing and cross-checking to ensure accuracy of registration and debtor databases.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures for admin tasks.
  • Assist with document preparation, record management, and reporting as required.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and maintain confidentiality at all times.
About You You’re an organised, detail-oriented administrator with strong initiative and the ability to juggle competing priorities. You’ll have a proven background in Local Government administration, excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail.
You will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience in a Local Government environment (essential).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
  • Sound knowledge of administrative practices, procedures, and policies within a legislative or compliance-based setting.
  • Experience with Health Manager or OneCouncil systems (highly regarded).
