We are currently seeking an experienced Manager or Senior Manager
in Business Services & Tax (BS&T)
to join a well-established and growing firm based in the heart of Newcastle CBD. Whether you're an experienced Manager ready for the next step or a Senior Manager looking for a clear pathway to Director level, this role offers the platform to lead, innovate, and grow.
Manager:
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Director, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of a talented team. You’ll ensure that strategic goals are met while delivering exceptional service and advice to a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the team and support team development
- Manage workflow, priorities, and deliverables to meet client and business objectives
- Deliver tailored business advisory and tax solutions to clients
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships through proactive service
- Drive continuous improvement in team processes and client outcomes
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting
- CA or CPA qualified (essential)
- Proven leadership experience with a focus on people and performance
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and advanced numeracy skills
- Effective problem-solving and organisational abilities
- Experienced with Xero and proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to manage change, implement new processes, and support innovation
- Strong relationship management and client service focus
- Previous experience in the BS&T industry, with knowledge of current industry trends
Senior Manager
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Director, you’ll be responsible for managing workflow, maintaining strong client relationships, and delivering high-quality advisory and tax services. You’ll work with a diverse portfolio of clients, from business owners to professionals across various industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering proactive and strategic advice
- Lead and support your team to ensure high standards of work and timely delivery
- Provide business advisory services including restructuring, tax planning, and cash flow management
- Collaborate with in-house specialists to offer clients comprehensive solutions
- Identify growth opportunities, contribute to business development, and expand referral networks
About You:
- 7+ years’ experience in a chartered environment in a similar role
- CA or CPA qualified (essential)
- Extensive tax knowledge with a strong ability to translate it into client value
- Proven ability to drive operational efficiency and contribute to revenue growth
- Skilled leader and mentor, capable of coaching and motivating others
- Confident communicator with strong client engagement and relationship skills
- Strong business development acumen
