About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to work as a trusted People & Culture Business Partner, supporting key directorates across Council. You'll provide expert advice on workforce planning, job design, industrial relations, and performance management, while collaborating with specialist teams across talent acquisition, learning and development, legal, systems, and projects.
Whether you're guiding leaders through structural change or embedding positive culture initiatives, your contribution will help shape an agile, high-performing workforce. Flexibility is key, as you’ll also step in to support priority projects and provide coverage where needed.
What You’ll Bring
- A degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–7 years' experience in a generalist or business partner role
- Proven ability to coach, influence, and advise across all levels—from front-line to executive
- Experience navigating performance management, IR, investigations, and change programs
- A collaborative mindset with strong relationship, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent time management in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office
- A valid Driver Licence and Working with Children Check
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Local government or similar industry experience
