Business Analyst – 12‑Month Contract (Possible 12‑Month Extension) Sydney CBD | ASAP Start | Hybrid (3 Days in Office)

Chandler Macleod is partnering with a leading national energy infrastructure organisation to recruit an experienced Business Analyst for their PMO team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative business and technology environment, supporting operational, metering, and infrastructure initiatives.

About the Role

This position sits within the organisation’s Business Improvement & PMO function, reporting to the Lead Business Analyst / Practice Lead. You will play a key role in analysing business needs, documenting requirements, mapping processes, and supporting solution design across a range of strategic and operational projects. This is a hands‑on BA role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with stakeholders across both business and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct end‑to‑end business analysis, including requirements gathering, documentation, and process mapping.
• Analyse current‑state processes and define future‑state improvements.
• Produce high‑quality documentation such as requirements definitions, process maps, and traceability matrices.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and decision‑making discussions.
• Support initiatives across operational improvement, metering, telecom infrastructure, and technology/product innovation.
• Apply and contribute to BA frameworks, methodologies, and continuous improvement.

About You Essential Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
• Proven experience delivering requirements, process analysis, and solution definition within complex environments.
• Solid understanding of BA methodologies (Agile experience highly regarded).
• Ability to identify and articulate process improvement opportunities.
• Strong documentation capability and attention to detail.

Desirable

• Experience in energy, utilities, telecommunications, or similar industries.
• Proficiency with BA tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Visio.
• Understanding of project management or solution architecture concepts.
• Exposure to data analysis and business intelligence tools.
