We are currently recruiting Temporary Building Surveyor
for our client, a Local Council based in Sydney on an initial 3 month basis with the possibility of extension. The role is for 35 hours per week and a competitive hourly rate is offered, depending on experience. Candidates with experience as a Development Compliance Officer
will also be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and determine construction certificate and complying development applications.
- Conduct critical stage inspections and issue compliance notices where necessary.
- Provide expert advice on building regulations, codes, and standards.
- Investigate building compliance matters and respond to customer enquiries.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality development outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Building Surveying
- Accreditation as a Building Surveyor (all levels considered) and previous experience in Local Government. Candidates with experience as a Development Compliance Officer will also be considered
- Working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Building Code of Australia, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
