Associate Director – Flood / Water Resources
Sydney | Permanent | Hybrid
We are partnering with a leading engineering consultancy to appoint an experienced Associate Director – Flood / Water Resources. This senior leadership role oversees delivery of complex water, hydrology, hydraulic modelling and flood‑related projects across NSW while supporting a growing team of engineers and client portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical and contractual aspects of flood, hydrology and water resources projects, ensuring compliance with legislation, authorities and industry standards.
- Oversee development of models, investigations, mitigation design, catchment assessments, stormwater management strategies and related technical documentation.
- Manage tender submissions, pricing, project scheduling, resource allocation, quality assurance, deadlines and budgets for medium–large scale water projects.
- Develop and strengthen client relationships while growing your own client base.
- Mentor and develop engineers and drafters, providing technical leadership and career guidance.
- Support implementation of business strategy, project governance and operational excellence.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia.
- 10+ years’ relevant experience in flood, hydrology or water resources engineering within a consulting environment.
- Strong capability in TUFLOW, RORB, HEC‑RAS, WBNM, XP‑RAFTS or equivalent modelling tools.
- Proven track record leading multi‑disciplinary water projects and developing client relationships.
- Strong commercial, communication and leadership abilities.
