About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and skilled professional to lead the day-to-day operations of its Employee Relations function during a period of significant transformation. As the Assistant Director, Employee Relations (Level 1 Equivalent), you will be the subject matter expert, responsible for managing complex industrial matters, leading a small team, supporting the implementation of the enterprise agreement, and overseeing employee consultation through mechanisms like the Workplace Committee.
This role requires a high degree of autonomy, sound judgment, and exceptional organizational and leadership capabilities. You will play a critical role in reshaping our client’s employee relations function to align with agency and Government strategic priorities.
What You'll Do
- Provide expert advice on complex industrial matters.
- Manage the delivery of team projects, including our client’s current enterprise agreement implementation.
- Lead and mentor a small, collaborative team.
- Oversee employee consultation, including our client’s Workplace Committee.
- Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful advice to employees, managers, and senior executives on our client’s employment framework, legislation, and policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Workplace Committee members and the broader HR team.
- Handle confidential and complex issues with sensitivity and discretion.
