Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced APS6 Training Design Manager to support our government client in the development of advanced training products and operating environment materials. This role forms part of a small specialist team dedicated to producing high‑end literacy content, exercise products and scenario‑based training tools within a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high end literacy content and scenario‑based training tools within a virtual environment.
- Support or lead the creation of e‑learning packages and digital content.
- Conduct training needs analysis and align outcomes with scenario generation.
- Produce high‑quality training products, including:
- Orders and planning documents
- Video scripts and storyboards
- Reports and supporting materials that enhance exercise realism
- Orders and planning documents
- Research future trends, technologies, and adversary capabilities in collaboration with internal teams and partner stakeholders.
- Participate in conferences, planning activities, and working groups (interstate and potential international travel required).
- Provide subject matter expertise during reviews.
- Plan production schedules using commercial project and workflow management tools.
- Lead small teams when supporting training delivery or scripting.
- Manage confidential information in accordance with relevant legislation and policy.
Essential Requirements
- Previous military experience
- Experience developing learning products
- Experience working in a Unit‑level Headquarters
- NV1 security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in a Formation‑level Headquarters or higher
- Background in Intelligence Analysis
- TAE40110 or equivalent training and assessment qualification
- Instructional or training delivery experience
- Previous operational military experience
- Experience with multimedia development tools
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills (including international partners)
- Ability to work autonomously and meet strict deadlines
