Are you an experienced rehabilitation case manager seeking to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic government environment? We are now hiring a dedicated APS6 Rehabilitation Case Manager for a six-month labour hire engagement in Canberra. This role offers the chance to work on complex claims, coordinate return-to-work initiatives, and support employees’ wellbeing — all within a collaborative, high-performing team committed to public service excellence.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience managing workers’ compensation claims and rehabilitation within a government, APS, or similar setting
- Strong understanding of Comcare claims processes, the SRC Act, and relevant legislation
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, particularly in sensitive conversations
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases with high attention to detail and sound judgment
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Competency in assessing and applying health, safety, and legal requirements in case management
- Experience navigating the APS Integrated Leadership System (ILS)
- Formal qualifications in Human Resources, Law, Psychology, or related fields
- Knowledge of working within or alongside rehabilitation providers and legal teams
- Prior experience in high-pressure, emotionally charged case environments
- Tertiary qualifications in HR, Law, Psychology, or related fields strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years' experience managing complex rehabilitation or workers’ compensation cases
- Experience working within the APS or a similar government framework
- Baseline security clearance is mandatory
- Ability to work on-site in Canberra three days per week
- Willingness to adhere to all workplace health and safety standards and confidentiality protocols
