Rehabilitation Case Manager
 
Location: Canberra
Employment Type: Non-ongoing (6 months) and 6 month labour hire opportunities available  
Classification: APS6 equivalent

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Rehabilitation Case Manager to join our team in Canberra for a 6-month assignment. You will play a key role in supporting injured or ill employees through their recovery and return-to-work journey. This role involves coordinating workplace rehabilitation programs and ensuring a smooth, timely, and sustainable return to work.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate, coordinate, and monitor workplace rehabilitation programs for injured or ill employees.
  • Connect and collaborate with all stakeholders involved in the return-to-work process.
  • Promote the health benefits of good work and early intervention strategies.
  • Encourage employer commitment to rehabilitation and facilitate early intervention.
  • Assist employers in providing suitable employment options for recovering employees.
  • Engage and manage workplace rehabilitation providers when appropriate.
  • Coordinate responses to requests for information regarding the employee’s injury, illness, and rehabilitation progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure completion of all relevant workers’ compensation documentation.
 
About You
  • Mandatory: Baseline Security Clearance and Australian Citizen
  • Comcare claims or rehabilitation case management experience is essential
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of workplace rehabilitation principles and relevant legislation.
  • Empathy and resilience when supporting individuals through challenging circumstances.
