Primary purpose of position
- This role is part of a pool of marketing and communications professionals that will support the Agency work plan projects for this financial year. The pool will provide flexible and responsive communication and marketing services to various project teams, ensuring that the Agency's messages are consistent, accurate and aligned with its strategic objectives and stakeholder needs. The pool will also contribute to building the Agency's reputation and profile as a leader in digital health innovation.
- The Senior Communications Officer is responsible for developing clear, engaging, visually attractive and effective communications, in collaboration with stakeholders across diverse business areas, and coordinating distribution through various Agency channels.
- The Senior Communications Officer will support the development and execution of end-to-end marketing and communication programs to support the priorities of the Agency. The delivery of the program will support and position the Agency roadmap and future vision for digital health in Australia.
Key success factors are communication and marketing skills, attention to detail and the ability to provide expert advice and support to multiple stakeholders, including across varying government departments as required. The role requires the ability to effectively prioritise and execute deliverables in a high-pressure environment, under limited direction. This role will follow an account management approach and work closely with the wider Communications and Marketing team, who are geographically dispersed.
Relevant duties
- Leadership and Accountability
- Implement communications plans, including setting tasks and priorities and managing workflow and timelines, following an account management approach.
- Assist in developing communications plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments.
- Developing materials for programs that are of a high standard and are consistent with a customer focused culture and align with brand strategy, guidelines and processes.
- Working in partnership with the wider project pool of resources, develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-facing communications, including print, digital, and video assets.
- Provide content and updates for customer and internal touch points, establishing budget guidelines and documenting business processes.
- Ensure visibility of hours allocated to specific projects through consistent documentation in tracking sheets.
- Management Diversity and Span
- Contribute to the development of team objectives for short term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives.
- Support the execution of communication programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration.
- Delivery of a program of work within the account service model within agreed timeframe, budget and governance framework.
- Awareness and ability to adapt within the Agency dynamic environment.
- Identify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis and optimise accordingly.
