Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of our client for a proactive and engaging Community Engagement Officer to join their team in Darwin on a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role is perfect for someone passionate about community involvement and experienced in managing events, forums, or consultation processes. It’s a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and support community participation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging presentations in both face-to-face and virtual settings, tailored to various stakeholder groups.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, ensuring messages resonate with diverse audiences.
- Support community forums, expos, and local engagement activities—including Mobile Service Centre events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Assist in planning and coordinating engagement activities, tracking their effectiveness through data analysis and feedback.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of targeted engagement strategies aligned with broader organisational goals.
- Support the organisation of stakeholder meetings, webinars, conferences, and community events.
- Help ensure engagement strategies respond proactively to community needs and trends.
- Proven experience in community engagement, stakeholder liaison, or event coordination—preferably within government or similar environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages both verbally and in writing.
- Skilled at delivering engaging presentations and facilitating discussions.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and execute multiple engagement activities.
- Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of internal and external partners.
- A collaborative team player who demonstrates professionalism under pressure.
- Passionate about community involvement and making a positive difference.
