Chandler Macleod is recruiting for an APS5 Risk Manager to join our client for a 6 month full time temporary assignment with potential extension. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safe registration and management of agricultural chemicals, supporting Australia's agricultural sector and environmental safety. Based in either Canberra or Armidale, the position involves evaluating scientific data and applying risk assessment principles to help make informed registration decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review scientific advice and legislative requirements to support registration recommendations for agricultural products.
- Evaluate technical and scientific information, applying regulatory risk assessment principles.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and issue resolution.
- Prepare correspondence, briefs, reports, manuals, guidelines, and policies to support regulatory processes.
- Ensure confidentiality of commercial information and compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Manage application workflow to achieve timely processing within legislated deadlines.
- Tertiary qualifications in biology, agricultural or horticultural science, entomology, weed science, pharmacology, toxicology, or physiology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide advice on complex scientific issues.
- Excellent organisational skills to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines without compromising accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
