We’re currently looking for a proactive and detail-oriented APS4 Executive Assistant to join a busy government department in Canberra. This is a 12-month full time, temporary contract, with the possibility of extension, starting in mid-February. You'll work alongside high-performing senior leaders within a fast-paced environment, providing essential administrative and executive support. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality administrative support to senior executives and the wider division
- Manage calendars, coordinate meetings, and organise workflows to ensure smooth daily operations
- Assist with research, analysis, and preparing advice or reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Use your knowledge of department procedures to make sound decisions within predefined guidelines
- Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
- Maintain record management systems to ensure accurate and accessible data
- Previous experience in an executive assistant or similar administrative role, ideally within government or complex organisations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of record management systems and administrative procedures
- Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and a high level of personal motivation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, while also delivering independently
- Proactive approach, with the capacity to adapt to changing priorities and solve problems as they arise
