Chandler Macleod is hiring on behalf of our client for an APS6 Training Specialist to join their team based in Canberra. This is a 12-month contract with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging presentations and facilitate training sessions for staff and partner agencies
  • Develop innovative, culturally sensitive, and diverse learning solutions and instructional materials
  • Review and update existing training curricula to ensure relevance and effectiveness
  • Identify gaps in security training and propose strategies for improvement
  • Analyse emerging security risks and update training content accordingly
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to refine training needs
  • Create eLearning content and support blended learning initiatives
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required
About You

  • Experience in government training development, delivery, and coordination
  • NV2 Clearance is mandatory
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in face-to-face, virtual, and online training formats
  • Knowledge of training development software is advantageous
  • Understanding of security frameworks and risk management practices, or a quick ability to learn them
  • Creative thinker with a knack for developing engaging, relevant training programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
  • Organised, client-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse groups and maintaining professional networks
