AO8 Project Manager

Location: Berrinba (with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week)
Salary:$147,768 – $156,143 + superannuation
Classification: AO8
Contract: 12-month fixed term with possible extension

The Department of Primary Industries (DPI) plays a vital role in protecting Queensland’s food security and sustainability. The National Fire Ant Eradication Program is a nationally significant biosecurity initiative focused on preventing the spread of invasive fire ants. About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to partner with our General Manager, Program Performance, and lead a diverse portfolio of projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This is a unique opportunity to deliver high-impact projects across multiple domains, including:
- Program support services
- Facilities management
- Data and systems
- Enabling functions
- Greenfield initiatives

You will manage programs of varying size and complexity, applying robust program management methodologies to ensure successful delivery. The role requires exceptional ability to schedule, prioritize, and drive outcomes in an environment that demands innovation, agility, and proactive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a portfolio of projects with a strong focus on timely outcomes and quality standards.
- Provide strategic program support and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Manage stakeholder relationships in a politically sensitive environment, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across all initiatives.
