AO7 Principal Project Officer (HR) – Government Contract
Brisbane CBD | ASAP – 30 June (possible extension)
$86.18 – $92.41 per hour + Super
An experienced AO7 Principal Project Officer (HR) is required to project manage the human resources components of a significant workplace change initiative within a major business unit.
About the Role:
You will lead the HR workstream, providing strategic, tactical and operational advice on employment and industrial relations matters. This role requires strong project management capability, stakeholder engagement expertise, and the ability to manage complex workplace change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on industrial and employee relations matters
- Support organisational structure and establishment management activities
- Track, monitor and report on project progress, risks and milestones
- Support union and employee consultation processes
- Represent the business unit at meetings and forums
- Prepare reports, briefing notes and presentations
- Manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes to tight deadlines
- Identify issues, analyse data, and develop practical solutions
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across HR, executive teams and sector partners
- Contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace culture
About You:
- Demonstrated expertise in Queensland Public Sector IR, ER and HR practices
- Strong project management and workplace change experience
- Highly developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, consultation and negotiation capability
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes with professionalism and accountability
- Ability to build and sustain trusted stakeholder relationships
Eligibility:
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work rights
- Current driver’s licence
- Tertiary qualifications in HR, Project Management, Change Management, Organisational Psychology or related field highly desirable
