About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high‑performing regional team supporting the delivery of a diverse program of works across Northern Queensland. As a Program Support Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient program coordination, documentation management and stakeholder communication across a geographically distributed district.
In this position, you’ll work with a range of internal teams and external partners, using modern business systems and Microsoft applications to keep program information accurate, organised and accessible. Your work will directly support the timely delivery of operational activities and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
This role suits someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and thrives in a busy operational setting where strong communication and organisational skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality administrative and coordination support across a district-wide program of works.
- Coordinate meetings and workshops, including preparing agendas, recording minutes, tracking actions and maintaining program schedules.
- Maintain and monitor program documentation, registers, trackers, reports and spreadsheets to ensure information is accurate, current and fit for purpose.
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage enquiries, coordinate follow-up actions and ensure timely, clear communication.
- Support compliance with policies, procedures, legislation (including WHS) and governance requirements by maintaining accurate records and escalating issues when required.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive work environment and participate in continuous improvement of administrative and coordination practices.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and modern business systems.
- Experience providing administrative or program/project support in a busy operational environment.
- Confident communicator who can adapt their writing and speaking style to different audiences.
- Highly organised, with the ability to anticipate needs, manage competing priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
- Able to analyse information, identify risks or emerging issues and escalate appropriately.
- Team‑focused with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current C‑Class driver’s licence.
