Chandler Macleod is seeking an  Accounts Receivable Officer (APS6) to join our client for a full-time, temporary 4-month assignment with the possibility of extension. This role is based in Canberra and requires a current Baseline Security Clearance.

As part of the Finance team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a high-quality financial environment through robust governance, effective processes, and expert guidance. You’ll lead the Accounts Receivable team, contributing to innovative system implementations and enhancing operational efficiency.

About the Role As the APS6 Accounts Receivable Officer, you will:

  • Lead and Develop: Supervise a small team, ensuring performance excellence and growth.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee Accounts Receivable functions, including account processing, invoicing, reconciliations, and customer service.
  • Compliance and Expertise: Provide strategic advice on Accounts Receivable matters, ensuring compliance with Commonwealth financial legislation and frameworks.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by updating policies, procedures, and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Conduct financial reconciliations, prepare executive reports, and manage end-of-month processes.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective communication.
About You Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 years in Treasury/Accounts Receivable supervision.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of the PGPA Act and other relevant Commonwealth financial frameworks.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in financial systems such as CBMS, TechnologyOne, and advanced Excel.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams in high-pressure, dynamic environments.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to resolving complex issues.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: A commitment to innovation and enhancing processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
