Rate:$37 per hour + super
Contract: Short-term contract – 4 weeks (leave coverage)

About the Role
A local council based in Cheltenham is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to provide short-term leave cover. This role is responsible for the end-to-end processing of creditor payments and delivering a customer-focused service to internal staff and members of the public.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and administer end-to-end accounts payable transactions
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and creditor payments
• Maintain accurate data entry and data management across financial systems
• Respond to internal and external enquiries in a professional and timely manner
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and audit requirements

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable, ideally within a government or large organisation
• Strong data entry and data management skills
• Knowledge of Australian Taxation Office GST requirements and auditing standards
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• PC literate with experience using financial systems and MS Office
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
