Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our client in Canberra. This is a full-time, temporary 4-month assignment with the potential for extension.

You’ll play a vital role in overseeing accounts payable activities, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) financial frameworks.

About the Role As the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will:

  • Supervise and develop the Accounts Payable team.
  • Manage prioritisation and quality assurance of accounts payable activities.
  • Ensure compliance with WoAG legislative and governance frameworks.
  • Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Drive process improvement and update relevant policies.
  • Prepare reconciliations, journals, and management reports.

About You The ideal candidate will have:
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 years in Accounts Payable management or supervision.
  • Legislative Knowledge: A solid understanding of the PGPA Act and other Commonwealth financial frameworks.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with systems such as Expense8, TechnologyOne, and advanced Excel.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and develop a team.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: A focus on innovation and enhancing processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
