The Department of Primary Industries (DPI) plays a vital role in protecting Queensland’s food security and sustainability. The National Fire Ant Eradication Program is a nationally significant biosecurity initiative focused on preventing the spread of invasive fire ants. About the Role
We are seeking a skilled procurement professional to lead strategic and operational procurement activities within the Program. This AO7-level role will manage end-to-end procurement processes, provide expert advice, and contribute to continuous improvement of procurement systems and practices.

Key responsibilities include:
· Leading procurement team
· Leading procurement planning, category management, and strategy development.
· Managing tender processes from planning to contract award.
· Advising on sourcing activities, including contingent labour engagements.
· Reviewing and improving procurement systems and governance.
· Mentoring and coaching staff in procurement practices.
· Contributing to policy development and divisional planning.

About You
· Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
· Proven experience in goods and services procurement
· Ability to manage end-to-end tender processes
· Knowledge of procurement governance and systems
· Experience mentoring and developing procurement capability
