Advance Biosecurity Preparedness
Deliver strategic engagement and education initiatives supporting animal and plant pest & disease preparedness, behaviour change and partnerships with industry peak bodies. Drive practical outcomes across priority audiences through evidence‑based engagement.
Position Overview
The AO5 Engagement Officer designs and delivers engagement projects and campaigns; applies project management methods; produces fit‑for‑audience materials through to publication; and builds stakeholder networks to enable targeted events and effective communication. The role uses audience analytics to inform stakeholder mapping and social responses and coordinates activities to time, scope and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Design engagement strategies that measurably lift preparedness (e.g., awareness, adoption of recommended practices).
- Plan and deliver campaigns/events with clear KPIs (reach, engagement, adoption), using audience analytics and stakeholder mapping.
- Produce clear, accurate content (briefings, factsheets, web copy) for diverse audiences and progress to publication.
- Build and maintain networks with industry peak bodies, regional partners and internal technical experts.
- Apply project management methodologies to meet scope, timeline and budget.
Essential Experience
- Project delivery in a government or regulated environment.
- Engagement with industry bodies and multi‑stakeholder programs.
- Demonstrated ability to produce concise, accurate written materials for technical and public audiences.
Highly Desired
- Strong project management experience; tertiary qualifications in communications/engagement or a related field.
Role Details
- Full‑time contractor in a strategy and engagement function; starts ASAP and runs to 30 June 2026.
- Primary site: Brisbane CBD; flexible arrangements negotiable.
