This full-time contract opportunity sits at the AO4 level and will support procurement processes for a variety of civil and infrastructure projects across the region. Working within a collaborative project delivery environment, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring procurement activity is efficient, compliant, and aligned with broader project objectives.
Key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Supporting the end-to-end procurement process, from planning and documentation through to evaluation and contract setup
- Providing clear and accurate advice on procurement procedures, policies, and internal compliance requirements
- Building strong working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure seamless delivery
- Assisting with contract administration and reporting obligations
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement systems, reporting tools, and internal workflows
- Providing administrative support to senior procurement staff on more complex projects, including tracking deliverables and milestones
- Assisting with the coordination of asset management tasks such as sourcing, stocktakes, and disposal processes
- Actively contributing to a high-performing team culture through open communication and performance collaboration
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or contract support within a government or infrastructure delivery environment
- Working knowledge of procurement practices, documentation, and contract workflows
- Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and liaise with suppliers and project teams
- High attention to detail, sound judgement, and strong organisational skills
- Experience using procurement systems or enterprise tools such as SAP or similar
- A team player who is proactive, reliable, and comfortable working in a structured, policy-driven environment
Why consider this role?
- Contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects that directly benefit the community
- Be part of a supportive government team with a focus on integrity, collaboration, and professional development
- Enjoy a consistent Monday to Friday schedule with flexibility between 7am and 6pm
- Opportunity to build government experience in a well-regarded department with long-term project pipelines
