Heavy Vehicle Service Mechanic
Location: Direk, Adelaide, SA
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:36 PM
Pay Rate:$35 – $50 per hour (commensurate with experience)

We’re looking for experienced and trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Service Mechanics to join a well-established operation based in Direk, Adelaide.
This workshop-based role focuses on servicing and repairing customer trailers and prime movers. You'll be part of a supportive and safety-focused team committed to delivering high-quality work on time. While trailer experience is highly regarded, it’s not essential—mechanics with backgrounds in heavy vehicle, transport, or plant maintenance are encouraged to apply.

Reporting to: Workshop Supervisor
Key Responsibilities – Perform mechanical servicing and repairs on trailers and prime movers.
– Undertake work on suspension, alignment, and electrical systems; carry out light welding/fabrication (if experienced).
– Replace or repair trailer brakes, bearings, axles, air systems, and suspension components.
– Ensure all work is completed to quality standards with accurate documentation.
– Conduct risk assessments and follow all safety procedures.
– Maintain a clean and safe work environment and keep tools in good condition.
– Collaborate with the team to improve workshop processes and SOPs.
– Assist with training team members where required.
– Conduct road tests (if licensed).

What We’re Looking For – Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or a related discipline.
– Proven experience in heavy vehicle, transport, automotive, or plant maintenance.
– Sound knowledge of trailer brake and air systems.
– Strong communication and a team-oriented attitude.
– Commitment to safety, quality work, and meeting deadlines.

Desirable Experience:
– Trailer servicing and repairs.
– Suspension, alignment, electrical systems, and light welding/fabrication.
