Trade Assistant / Polisher | Seven Hills | $35.40/hr + Allowances
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Trade Assistant/Polisher to join a dynamic production team based in Seven Hills, NSW. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone looking to build on their joinery and polishing skills in a supportive, high-quality production environment.
The Role:
You will be responsible for supporting site activities, polishing joinery products to a high standard, operating power tools, reading and interpreting basic plans, and contributing to a strong safety culture. You’ll also help foster a clean, organised, and productive workplace while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and timely project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
− Perform French polishing on joinery and cabinetry products.
− Read and interpret basic plans, sketches, and drawings.
− Operate a variety of power tools safely and effectively.
− Maintain work area cleanliness and support production teams.
− Ensure compliance with Workplace Health, Safety, and Environmental (WHSE) standards.
− Assist with loading, transporting, and delivering finished products.
− Support and mentor less-experienced team members where needed.
What We’re Looking For:
− Valid Driver Licence and White Card (mandatory).
− Certificate in French Polishing (mandatory).
− 1–2 years’ experience in a Joinery, Cabinetmaking, or Shopfitting environment.
− At least 2 years’ experience in French polishing.
− Ability to meet the physical demands of manual handling tasks.
− Good communication and teamwork skills.
− Basic clerical and administration skills.
Desirable:
− Experience maintaining tools and equipment.
− Commitment to continuous improvement in WHS and quality outcomes.
