Test Analyst

Our client AGL are seeking a Test Analyst for a six month contract role to support the Build & Run of the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) systems within AGL’s Wholesale Market Trading team. Reporting to the Quality and Release Manager, you’ll be embedded in a collaborative agile team, working on innovative platforms like DER Neo, ResBatt, and DistroBatt—critical to validation, settlement, and valuation processes. The role is based in Melbourne CBD in a hybrid working environment (3 days in the office).

This role is hands-on, with a strong focus on test automation, CI/CD integration, and end-to-end quality assurance across complex, data-heavy applications.

What You’ll Do
•    Plan and execute end-to-end testing cycles
•    Lead SIT/UAT coordination across multiple teams
•    Build and maintain automated testing frameworks
•    Perform both manual and automated testing as needed
•    Identify and address quality gaps in critical functional areas
•    Provide daily test execution reports and defect triaging
•    Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure value-driven testing

What We’re Looking For
•    Proven experience testing in large transformation programs
•    Strong background in CI/CD environments and test automation
•    Experience in wholesale energy markets or trading systems
•    Skilled in API testing and cross-system E2E test planning
•    C# or any other programming language experience highly regarded
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
•    Agile mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
•    ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification (preferred)
