Senior Sourcing Specialist

Location: Melbourne CBD / Hybrid
Classification: VPS5 equivalent
Salary:$543.37 - $598.35
Work Type:  Temporary contract, full-time hours
Assignment length: 21 July - 8 October 2025

Are you an experienced procurement professional ready to take on a senior role in a dynamic public sector environment? We’re seeking a motivated Senior Sourcing Specialist to lead end-to-end sourcing activities, manage strategic procurement projects, and deliver value-for-money outcomes across a range of high-impact initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex end-to-end sourcing processes, from planning through to contract award
  • Develop sourcing strategies, evaluation plans, negotiation frameworks, and stakeholder briefings
  • Collaborate closely with internal clients and multidisciplinary teams to support strategic objectives
  • Provide expert advice on procurement compliance, risk management, and value creation
  • Drive continuous improvement across procurement practices, tools, and systems
  • (If applicable) Provide leadership and support to junior procurement team members
About You: You’re a strategic thinker with sound commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills. Your ability to manage high-value sourcing activity in a regulated environment, combined with a customer-focused approach and excellent stakeholder engagement skills, will be key to your success.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex sourcing initiatives in line with public or private sector procurement frameworks
  • Strong understanding of contract development and commercial risk management
  • Ability to develop effective stakeholder relationships and influence at senior levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of briefings and reports
  • Knowledge of government procurement processes is highly desirable
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, commerce, law, or a related field are advantageous
