About the role:
 

  • Working strategically to seek opportunities to promote the Scheme and the work of the Agency.
  • Contributing to a strategic and nationally consistent approach for the Agency and supporting media and communications approaches that leverage best practice.
  • Collaborating with the Agency subject matter experts to develop comprehensive media packages for TV, online, print, radio and social platforms.
  • Creating and delivering compelling media pitches.
  • Producing and contributing to media and other communications products including media releases and talking points.
  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to develop media plans to support announcements and media opportunities.
  • Contributing to strategies to improve channels and platforms including the Agency website, Ministerial and Executive briefings, event materials and social media.
  • Supporting the monitoring and identification of potential media risks.
  • Utilising reporting metrics to review the impact of media and communications approaches, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Managing and responding to media enquiries and working within an after-hours rotational on-call media roster.
  • Supporting the delivery of media engagement and communication activities.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to support the promotion of the Scheme and the work of the Agency.

  • Writing for full range of platforms and audiences
  • Attention to detail in editing own work and work of others
  • Managing workload to meet deadlines
  • Confidence and experience dealing with media
  • News sense
  • Media pitching (packaging and delivering)
  • Translating jargon for simple understanding
  • Working collaboratively in a small team
  • Time management, progressing immediate, medium and long-term tasks
  • Working effectively under limited direction
  • Triage – assessing information in timely, accurate manner
  • Risk management and critical thinking


Benefits:
  • ASAP start (pending Federal Police Clearance)
  • 12 Months contract with possibility to be extended
  • Full time hours Monday to Friday
  • VIC-NSW-QLD-WA-SA locations
  • $60.26 Hourly + Super
