Senior or Management Accountant – Commercial Services | Brisbane-Based | Hybrid Working
We are partnering with a leading organisation in the technology and services sector to recruit a skilled Senior or Management Accountant
to join their dynamic and collaborative finance team. This organisation is well-established and committed to growth, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality outcomes across the business.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and playing a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, and internal financial controls. You will also mentor junior team members, contribute to strategic projects, and step in for the Head of Finance when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of monthly financial results, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Maintain and oversee the general ledger in line with compliance and accounting standards
- Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations and coordinate with the broader finance function
- Lead budget and forecast processes, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs
- Provide financial insights through outlook preparation and management reporting
- Prepare year-end accounts and contribute to consolidated group reporting
- Enhance and maintain internal controls, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies
- Deliver monthly reports and insightful commentary to senior leaders and business units
- Lead financial analysis to support decision-making and growth initiatives
- Mentor junior finance staff and promote continuous knowledge sharing
- Support and coordinate internal and external audit processes
- Drive finance system and process improvements to deliver efficiency and enhanced reporting
- Act as the Head of Finance in their absence, ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making
- Provide ad hoc analysis and contribute to strategic financial projects
About You: Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- CPA or CA qualified
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, or Business
- Advanced Excel skills and strong experience with accounting software
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Experience:
- Experience with budgeting and commercial reporting
- Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, and Atlassian suite
