Government department tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking a Risk Advisor to join their busy team for a 6-month temporary assignment.


About the role

As a Risk Advisor, you will support the Service Delivery Branch to proactively manage operational and strategic risks, obligations and audit issues in delivering the service to its clients. In addition, your key duties are as follow:

  • Assist with facilitating risk discussions and reviews with risk owners, applying the Risk Management Framework in supporting the effective identification and management of operational and project risks.
  • Analyse trends in mitigating risks, minimising potential exposure and harness opportunities, including risk treatment plans and processes.
  • Assist with delivery of risk management training and education programs, build risk management knowledge, skills and tools across all work areas.
  • Maintain relationships with other risk and assurance teams within the Agency, ensuring appropriate management of shared risks and issues.
  • Provide input into the preparation of risk reporting to Service Delivery stakeholders.


About you

To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • Proven experience in a similar Risk Management role
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and trainings
  • Strong background in risk framework to manage risks, incidents and issues
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
  • Previous experience in risk reporting
