About the Company
Since 1973, our client has been designing and manufacturing cutting-edge electric heating solutions that power industries around the world. With over 50 years of expertise, 750 employees, and 10 manufacturing plants, they proudly serve 30,000 customers in 100 countries.
Their mission is to drive the decarbonisation of industrial processes while adding value for customers, communities, and the planet.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on and proactive QHSE Manager to lead and continuously improve the company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) performance across operations.
This is a strategic and operational role that will suit someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves. While you won’t manage direct reports, you will work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and be supported by a strong global and national network within the Spirax Group.
The company is open to candidates who may not have previously held the title of “Manager” but have demonstrable experience and responsibility for HSE within industrial or operational environments. For the right person, this role offers growth opportunities and support, including the option to pursue further study and higher-level qualifications.
About You
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading or supporting HSE initiatives within an industrial, manufacturing, or operational environment, with strong knowledge of quality assurance, auditing, and risk management. A minimum of BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent) is required, and additional qualifications in QMS or advanced HSE are highly desirable.
This role suits someone with a hands-on, proactive approach—someone who leads by doing and works collaboratively across departments to embed safety and quality practices. Strong analytical thinking, excellent communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with high attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
As QHSE Manager, you will lead initiatives that ensure compliance, promote continuous improvement, and support a safe, high-quality, and sustainable working environment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE policies, procedures, and systems in line with regulatory requirements and Spirax Group standards
- Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Investigate incidents, manage non-conformance reports, and drive corrective and preventive actions
- Deliver HSE and quality training to employees, promoting awareness and best practices across teams
- Lead internal audits and inspections, analyse performance trends, and report outcomes to management and regulators
- Oversee environmental sustainability programs including waste management and pollution prevention
- Promote “Right First Time” practices and ensure adherence to quality protocols in production and engineering
- Manage emergency response planning, evacuation procedures, and safety drills
- Ensure contractor and vendor compliance with QHSE requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, maintenance, and engineering teams to embed QHSE in day-to-day activities
- Liaise with global counterparts across Europe, APAC, and the Spirax Group to ensure alignment of systems and continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits, compliance, training, and incident management
- Manage the QHSE budget, including procurement of safety and quality-related equipment
- Join a respected global leader in industrial sustainability and innovation
- Opportunity for professional growth in a supportive, networked organisation
- Contribute to meaningful change, helping improve safety, quality, and environmental outcomes
- Engage locally while being part of a dynamic international Group
- Competitive salary
