Our client is a well-established, Australian-owned manufacturer based in Brisbane, operating in the electronics and lighting sector. With over 45 years of experience and a strong, collaborative culture, they are now seeking a Purchasing Officer to support production through effective procurement.
This full-time, in-office role in Brisbane reports to the Production Manager and involves managing domestic and international purchasing, supporting the rollout of a new ERP system, and ensuring timely material supply and supplier performance.
Key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Manage the procurement of raw materials, parts, and consumables in line with production timelines
- Process and track purchase orders, including inbound international air and sea freight
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across the system
- Reconcile supplier and freight invoices and support cost control initiatives
- Contribute to supplier sourcing, negotiation, and vendor performance management
- Support the implementation of a new ERP system (Odoo)
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure purchasing decisions align with financial oversight and operational requirements
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management in a manufacturing or similar environment
- Exposure to ERP systems (e.g. Odoo, NetSuite, Dynamics); training can be provided
- Confidence managing international freight and supplier relationships
- A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage 30–40 suppliers weekly
- Clear, professional communication and a collaborative team mindset
- Full Australian working rights required
