About the role:
Our client are seeking a Project Scheduler to join the scheduling team within the Program Management Office, which supports project delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft Project/Project Online. This role is crucial for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the project schedule, and requires exceptional collaboration skills to work effectively with other team members. The individual will also need to identify potential scheduling risks and provide guidance on schedule management to the project.
Key duties and responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and manage the project schedule.
• Ensure the project schedule is integrated, aligned, and compliant with requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and team members to ensure cohesive and accurate scheduling, articulating the critical path of the project.
• Work with project managers to identify external dependencies.
• Analyse schedule data to identify potential risks, delays, and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide regular status updates and reports on schedule performance and progress against the baseline schedule.

About you:
Essential criteria
1. Proven experience as a project scheduler with 4 to 7 years of experience.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
3. Understanding of project management in both waterfall and agile projects.
4. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively liaise and keep stakeholders informed and engaged, both verbally and in writing.
5. Proven ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline clearance.
6. Demonstrated positive attitude towards people with disability, aligning with the core purpose of the NDIA.
Desirable criteria
1. Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of Power BI.
2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a team player, collaborative and results driven, with strong organisational, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
3. Strong communication skills, able to showcase good analytical and evaluating skills.
4. Experience working in a government environment

Based out of ACT, Sydney, Melbourne, South Australia or Tasmania
Competitive daily pay rate dependent on experience.
