About the company:
Our client is a large Government agency tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking for an experienced Project Officer for a 12-month casual temporary assignment. The role requires a proactive, highly organised individual with strong project management skills, stakeholder engagement experience and a passion for delivering meaningful change.
About the role:
- Developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
- Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
- Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities.
- Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
- Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
- Monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management.
- Identifying and assisting with the management of project risks, issues and benefits.
- Experience in managing end-to-end projects within government or community services, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including with community, government, and service providers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated understanding of engagement principles, or consultation processes.
- Familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems.
Desirable skills
- Apply project management methodologies to plan, monitor and deliver work packages
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision as an effective member of a team, using a high level of initiative to manage competing priorities
- Demonstrated experience initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Communicate complex information clearly and concisely through written briefs, reporting and presentations
- Apply judgement to resolve issues and make evidence informed decision
- Experience in managing end-to-end projects within government or community services, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.

- Full time hours Monday to Friday
- Locations considered – Newcastle NSW, Campbelltown NSW and Deakin ACT
- APS6 - $60.26 per hour + super
