Lead the delivery of a landmark renewable energy project that will power thousands of Australian homes.
About the Client:
Equis is one of the leading renewable energy developers and investors in the Asia-Pacific region, specialising in large-scale sustainable infrastructure including solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). With a strong focus on innovation, environmental stewardship, and community impact, Equis is committed to delivering projects that help shape a more sustainable future.
About the Project:
The proposed Calala Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
is located approximately 5.8km southeast of the Tamworth CBD, within the Tamworth regional municipality. Once complete, the BESS will have a charge/discharge capacity of up to 300MW
—enough to supply electricity for up to 115,000 homes. This project is a key part of Australia’s clean energy transition, providing grid stability and enabling greater uptake of renewable power.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Project Construction Supervisor
to be the ears and eyes on the ground, overseeing the construction of this large-scale BESS project. This is a fixed-term role (approximately two years), ideally suited to a confident and capable construction leader with 15+ years of experience in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of construction activities on the Calala BESS project
- Ensure timely delivery within scope, quality, and budget parameters
- Develop and manage detailed construction schedules and budgets
- Supervise and coordinate all contractor and vendor engagements, including contract negotiation and performance monitoring
- Maintain strict compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to achieve project milestones
- Provide transparent and accurate project reporting to senior leadership
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- 15+ years of experience managing major infrastructure or renewable energy construction projects
- Deep knowledge of construction methodologies, project management principles, and regulatory frameworks
- Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and manage diverse stakeholders on site
- Strong commercial acumen and experience managing contracts, budgets, and timelines effectively
This is your chance to play a pivotal role in delivering one of Australia’s most impactful renewable energy storage projects. You'll work alongside a passionate and innovative team at Equis and contribute to a sustainable future that benefits local communities and the national energy grid.
